Dan
and Joy Russell were installed as Senior Pastors of Battle Ground
Foursquare Church in December of 2007. Together they have four
children: son Ryan and daughters Sarah, Dani and Hannah. The 15
years prior to coming to Battle Ground, Dan and Joy served at East
Hill Foursquare Church in Gresham, Oregon. Dan is currently serving
the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel as a
representative for church planting in Clark County, Washington. He
also is part of the USA Wrestling National Coaching Staff and was
an Olympic Coach at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. As a
four-time NCAA Wrestling Champion, a four-time Academic
All-American, and the 1995 Unofficial Wrestling Champion of the
World, Dan has had the opportunity to represent the United States
in 44 nations.
Dan is an accomplished motivational speaker. A successful
athletic career and years of experience working in the church have
provided a relevant foundation for Dan’s ministry. He has an
amazing testimony of God’s grace and compassion. He has traveled
extensively sharing his testimony in churches, schools and sports
arenas. Working with men, women and young people, Dan’s ability to
encourage adults and students as a role model has been a gift to
the body of Christ. Dan has a passion to see people step into their
ministry calling no matter the cost, working to train up leaders
and pastors around the world. He calls leaders to step into their
ministry calling with faith and courage. As the Senior Pastor of
Battle Ground Foursquare Church, Dan hopes to ignite his community
with the love of Christ, bringing hope, encouragement and practical
help to those in need. His desire is to see the united body of
Christ, those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and
Savior, begin to reach out in simple acts of kindness and faith to
impact their culture with the grace of God.
